As news continues to come out of Nepal following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25, 2015, we are reminded of past seismic events that have hit us here at home and the need to prepare.

Most Americans think of California first when we think earthquake, but there are seismically active areas all around the country. Just a few weeks ago, temblors hit the Oklahoma and Texas area.

If you live in a region prone to earthquakes, there are steps you should be taking now to prepare for the next event. Our friends over at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have a great article on what you can do to be prepared for an earthquake.
